History Weavers Gala
June 20 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
On June 20, 2024, The Claremore Museum of History (MoH) will celebrate its annual fundraiser event with a History Weavers Gala Night at the Hard Rock Casino 6:30pm. The proceeds from this award ceremony will be used to fund the ongoing operations of the MoH.
The History Weavers Award will be presented to an organization who has been influential in our local History since it’s earliest days. This year, the award will be presented to the Indian Women’s Pocahontas Club. 2024 marks the 125th anniversary of this remarkable organization and representatives will be in attendance to receive the award. As one of the oldest female and Native American organization within our nation, the Claremore Museum of History is proud to recognize this most noteworthy group.
The name of this year’s award denotes the mental image of a weaver and from dictionaries, we see that weavers are healers of the unbroken whole – connecting people and places in elegant tapestries of shared meaning and visions of a world that works for all. This year’s event not only celebrates this group of strong, proud and resilient Cherokee women, but also recognizes the vision and title of “Ladies, Leaders, and Legacies” as the newest and upcoming exhibit at our museum.
