Dan attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University College of Pharmacy where he received his degree and currently practices at CVS Pharmacy in Claremore.

Dan heralds from a family that is rich with Claremore history.   His father, Ernie was the owner of the infamous Ernie’s Pool Hall that was located on main street Claremore. The establishment was owned by Claremore Progress and Tulsa World sports journalist, Oklahoma Coaches Association Hall of Fame inductee, Claremore Masonic Lodge member, Claremore Citizen of the Year, and Ernie’s Poolhall proprietor, Ernest Leo Smart, Jr.  Most men in Claremore today that are older than 60, has some memory of Ernie’s! It was the ‘go to’ place teenage boys. They played pool while the older guys played dominos.

Dan’s mother, Jessie Lou was also a Claremore legend.   She was the bookkeeper for C.R. Anthony’s and in the role, had to keep Charlie Anthony the manager in line.   Anthony’s was also located on main street where Cranberry Merchant now resides.

Dan is a proud member of the Claremore Elks Lodge and actively supports our local police and veterans.
