MoH Outreach

Let us bring the MoH to you! Outreach programs are generally longer and more in-depth than our field trips and tours. Our programs are designed to complement and support Oklahoma Academic Standards. Activities support auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learners. Additionally, all classes include an art element and celebrate Claremore’s History. We offer FREE programs for 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade.


3rd Grade – Oklahoma History: Lynn Riggs and Playwriting (Learn More)

Overview:

Third grade students will learn about the Broadway musical and film, Oklahoma! and Lynn Riggs, the creator of Green Grow the Lilacs. This program will meet third grade Oklahoma Academic Standards in English Language Arts, Visual Arts, Music, and Social Studies. The showcase artifact for this specific program will be Lynn’s miniature stage and the program will focus on creating a story.

4th Grade – Native American Culture: Early Inhabitants Arts and Culture (Learn More)

Overview:

Fourth grade students will learn about the early inhabitants of Claremore. This program will meet fourth grade Oklahoma Academic Standards in English Language Arts, Visual Arts, Music, and Social Studies. The showcase artifact for this specific program will be the Cherokee Law Books of 1895.

5th Grade – U.S. History: Stuart Roosa and Apollo 14 (Learn More)

Overview:

Fifth grade students will learn about astronaut Stuart Roosa and Apollo 14. This program will meet fifth grade Oklahoma Academic Standards in English Language Arts, Visual Arts, Music, Social Studies, Science, and Math. The showcase artifact for this specific program will be Stuart Roosa’s star chart from Apollo 14. This star chart will be recreated as a visual art project activity.
